This is the 6 one. . .

Is there a creature that says, "whenever this creature is dealt damage, deal that much damage to it's controller."?

If you use the new Venser with something that takes control for a turn, do you keep the creature?

Is there any card other than Darien, King of Kjeldor that triggers when you take damage?

@ turbine, The +2 ability is only for permanents you own, you cant use it on a creature you control that an opponent owns.

Would work well with Confusion in the Ranks if you were willing to go 3 colours.

Or with Avarice totem if you wanted to keep the colours down but the cost of comboing would be more.

@ Phsyche Angelheart vial, blood hound, lich, living artifact and sun droplet.

Venser is better than I originally thought! Of course, there aren't any ways to abuse him in Standard (I think).

Any of the titans break even more as they get 2 uses a turn. Acidic slime every turn is nasty.

Ichor rats from scars can turn mean by adding poison counters to everyone.

I think it is still gonna get a lot of use in T2.

Its second ability is rather tasty, in scars thats gonna go well with infect.

And if you get the biggun off that's just immense.

How many cards are milled when you Twincast a kicked Rite of Replication targeting a Halimar Excavator?

I know it's 181 (including when the original Excavator comes into play) before, but after the Twincast?

Well, I'm pretty sure that the kicker doesn't copy as well.

It does... if you copy a kicked spell, the copy is also kicked...

New question: What happens when you modify a random creature (say, an Ornithopter) with something like Wings of Velis Vel... and then duplicate it with something like Splinter Twin?

Will it make token duplicates of an Ornithopter, or will it make token duplicates of a 4/4 creature with all creature types and flying (at least until end of turn)?

a twincasted rite will mill 785 cards =180 when the copy resolves, then another 605 when the orignal rite does.  formula is (number of halimar X number of triggers each has) times number of allys.  So then twin cast resolves you have (6 x 5) x 6 (or the same as a rite, and when the orginal rite resolves the forumla is (11 x 5) x 11

when a card is copied it only copies the orginal characteristics of the card, so in the example you will get a 0/2.  the best way to think of what a card will be when its copied is to take that card and xerox it.  thats your copy.

if you clone the hydra with the X on it's casting cost... the X would be equal to the original right?

Wouldn't the X be 0?

Seems like it... i mean X is the paid mana, almost like an additional cost or something...

clones and such come into play with 0 counters of any kind, so if you cloned a hydra, it would be a 0/0.

Was playing the other day, and we had a problem tectonic edge.

He went 1st and had 4 land down including 1 edge, I play my edge and use is to kill his collenade to take out his blue mana. He tried responding by killing my ravine.

I thought as it was my turn i get to act 1st And sacced the edge. I believe that now i have 3 land by the time my opponent has priority and cant target my land with his edge.

The other players there all said that he could respond and we all went with group rule, but I would like to know how events should have happened to be sure.

Playing a land does not use the stack. As it is your turn, you have priority to play abilities after playing the land.

As sacrificing your Edge is a cost, it happens immediately and can't be responded to (though the ability it generates goes on the stack can be responded to later).

Your opponent cannot then sacrifice their Edge, as they no longer meet the condition for playing it (as you don't control 4 or more lands).

In this case your play group was wrong. Take the opportunity to teach them about priority and the stack, and paying costs.

---

1, Tap, Sacrifice Tectonic Edge: Destroy target nonbasic land. Activate this ability only if an opponent controls four or more lands.

Thanks zark. I thought that was the case, but went with them to keep the night fun.

Now its confirmed I can point it out before we start playing and we'll all be cool.

We've been playing at home for years now and have only recently been going to organised events, so learning about this stuff is good for all of us :)

Lands have different rules than all other cards.
