Title: How do you edit posts?

I've seen a few people here and there complain about not being able to edit posts. Every now and then my account switches between having an "edit" button at the bottom right hand side of my posts and other times (including currently) the button is not present.

Are there some url tricks to get to editing posts?

Thanks in advance.

Cheers

You must be logged in first... I assume that when you can't see edit post on your post, you were not logged in... you'll know if you're not logged in if the text below the box at the top of the page says "You are not logged in [click to login] - [Join For Free!]...

And if you're logged in it says "You are logged in as shakii23 [profile] - [logout]"...

Now if it still doesn't work there must be some kind of problem... javascript disabled or something...

I recently rebooted my computer from the start-disk due to a virus and I reinstalled Java ver 6, update 21.

I'm thinking you're onto something, but what else could it be that's stopping it?

What would be interfering with Java, I mean

Java and javascript are two different things... Java is used to run those applets found in the browser in let's say the upload photo in facebook...
Javascript is built-in on every browser... and only needs to be enabled or disabled...

I'm using a different computer, and it still works.

When I use a different computer it works (I'll edit this post to show that).

But since I rebooted my main from the start-up disks, I can't seem to figure out how to get it back to its original functionality.

Oh, okay, someone try to click this and see if you can edit this post.

That is so weird. When I log in with "ephemerance" it doesn't let me edit posts, but when I log in as "Ephemerance," it works.

The ability to edit posts is case sensitive to your log in name?

both names log me in and allow me to post under the same profile, but only when I log in with the case specific name does it allow me to edit posts. I'm assuming this was made so no one could edit each others' posts simply by fiddling around with the url code. Still, maybe this will help other people.

I'll try it now. I'm used to capitalizing my name though.

It didn't work. It automatically capitalized it. . .

Maybe at school.
