Does anyone ever listen to music while playing MTG? Me and my friends just recently chose a playlist for our big Halloween chaos, and I wanted to know does anyone out there like to listen to music while playing the game?

Not really during tabletop play. I listen to music when playing MTGO, though. Nothing in particular, just whatever I'm in the mood for at the time.

Hmm, music would be nice for gaming, main problem is that when we start playing it ends up with 15 cards on a stack per turn so everyone gets rather annoyed when they don't hear their "But what about my Whatever!" although... it would be nice if i could drown out some of the annoying humdrum lol

That's the same with my group - music would hinder our ability to ask questions, or argue over rules :) Throw a few beers into the equation, and then we've really got concentration problems!

LMAO. My group always have music playing in the background and trust me when the debate gets going with what happens to the stack you can't hear the music at all. Probally added to the fact that we are all drinking doesn't help, but it helps calm the mood at times and gives us things to talk about other than mtg.

When I play against people that listen to music, it gets really annoying to hear them say "what" every time I ask them something.

I know the feeling, I once got lucky with Fiery Gambit and won three flips in a row, only to have my opponent pull out an earbud and ask, "Have you played anything yet?" Needless to say I went through the whole process, but this time lost my first flip.

lol, worst thing ive had happen lately would be running a 15 piece combo, explaining the steps and one of them turn and say, "oh damn your doing that?, Well here.. Naturalize"

of course to my dismay i hate it when people don't even realize things when your on a roll

Many times in my Esper deck, I have to explain everything I am doing. (I am running 4 Thopter Foundries)

Well, usually a rectangular table, but sometimes we use a round one for a big chaos.

Definitely nice, and definitely worth the price, I might ask my buddies if we could all pitch in and get one. It would definitely enhance the gameplay experience, thanks for the link.

np man, i have to admit playing them is one hell of a game, they run p9 decks and talk about a good challenge, then again my gf can always piss them off with her passive decking since they go spell happyand burn thorough their decks in 5 turns tops
