Title: Equipping non-creatures?

Okay, I have an odd question that I believe I already know the answer to.  If I enchant a creature that doesn't remain a creature BUT REMAINS IN PLAY, does the enchant stay?

The example is Genju of the Fields.  If I cast Genju, make my plains a creature then enchant it...at the end of the turn, genju turns back into just a plains but it's still in play.  Does the enchant stay on it so that next turn I can use 2W and get genju back with the enchants?

I am working on a Samurai deck that plays heavily with Bushido abilities but I love my Genju.  I always have at least one in my deck since he has lifelink, I was hoping I could buff him up and hit harder with lifelink for the health gain even if he's blocked every turn.  Anyone have any ideas about this?

Nope, the aura/equipment will be removed because the enchanted permanent is not a legal permanent to enchant...

The Genju and Zendikons are eerily similar.
