Title: changing creature

If I use Serendib Sorcerer to make a creature a 0/2 will the creature loose it's abilitys? I would like to see this in the MTG rules if someone could be so kind as to direct me where they are. Thanks for the help if possible.

Reading the text you would note that the Sorceress doesn't mention abilities, so it should only affect the power/toughness of the creature.  The only case this gets rid of abilities is with cards like nightmare where their power/toughness is dependant, no longer applies.
