if two of the same legend EXACT same legend are out both their controllers sacrafice them. Example if you have two kamhal pit fighters out both must be sacraficed. You are however allowed to have kamhal fist of krosa and kamhal pit fighter out.

So its not the Creature type? (or the Tribal Type for that matter.)

Actually, it must be the exact same name, so if you have the nameless unglued card and Draco out, you may pay {1}, change the name of ___ to draco, and they both die.

Legend used to be a creature type - however, as of Kamigawa block (iirc) they removed this type and gave all creatures which used to have this type the 'Legendary' supertype, in order to match with other types of permanent (e.g. Legendary Artifact).

It used to be the case, pre-Kamigawa, that if you had a Legend in play and someone else played the same Legend, theirs would go straight to the graveyard and you would keep yours.

In Kamigawa they changed this so that all of the Legendary creatures with the same name died. This is the current ruling.

More info from the comp rules:

204.4d Any permanent with the supertype "legendary" is subject to the state-based action for legendary permanents, also called the "legend rule" (see rule 704.5k).

704.5k If two or more legendary permanents with the same name are on the battlefield, all are put into their owners' graveyards. This is called the "legend rule." If only one of those permanents is legendary, this rule doesn't apply.

Note the last part of that rule means Mageta's suggestion of using _____ to kill enemy legendary creatures does not work. (which I did not know until I looked up the rule just now, learning is fun)

This is similar to the planeswalker rule, although they go by the type, not the name. Multiple legendary creatures representing the same character are allowed in play, so long as they don't share a name, however multiple planeswalkers representing the same character will be put into the graveyard together.

For Planeswalkers, if two of the same person are in play, they both die. Like having Jace Beleren and Jace, the Mindsculptor out.
