Just thought I would post a Type 2 standard deck that I've been having a lot of success with. I've spent several days play-testing, balancing....and it's about as tight as it can be. Give it a try, see what you think.

60 cards:
----------------------------------------
Birds of Paradise                       x 4
Sprouting Thrinax                      x 4
Tuktuk the Explorer                   x 2
Mycoloth                                    x 4
Skullmulcher                               x 3
Voracious Dragon                      x 2

Dragon Fodder                           x 4
Grim Discovery                           x 3
Chain Reaction                           x 3
Maelstrom Pulse                         x 4
Consuming Vapors                      x 4
Not of This World                        x 2

Savage Lands                             x 3
Tectonic Edge                             x 3
Forest                                         x 7
Swamp                                        x 4
Mountain                                     x 4

Main goal: Get Mycoloth out as quickly as possible, to generate tokens.
Not of This World : Free counterspell to protect your Mycoloth or Dragon when you tap out for one of them on 5th turn.
Tectonic Edge + Grim Discovery: Great combo for those creature-lands, and Emeria, Sky Ruins.....plus a critter comes back too.
Chain Reaction: Gets you out of trouble quickly, especially when your opponent gets an early jump on creatures count. And a 10/10 Mycoloth can survive these.
Tuktuk + Voracious Dragon: Devour Tuktuk to get 5/5 Dragon, 5/5 Tuktuk, 2 damage.
Skullmulcher: Fills your hand, especially the turn after you drop Mycoloth.

Note: When you devour Sprouting Thrinax, you don't get to devour the tokens it creates as well. You'll have to wait until your next devouring.

No Bloodbraids. That's a first in a Jund deck. (^_^)

Anyway, your deck looks effective at completing it's objective quickly.

Many people say that Bloodbraids and Blightnings are a must in a Jund deck. I find, however, that these 2 cards slow the deck down.

Bloodbrain does NOT slow it down.

That's just from what I've seen. It's not so easy to Bloodbraid into a Blightning, which is what many Jund deck users want to happen. Like I said, it's just in my opinion. It's only really useful for its cascade ability. And Other than that, it's too weak for a 4-drop.

4 for a 3/2 haste that pulls a burn spell. How is that bad?

Because it doesn't always pull a burn spell. You're looking at the deck as if it will play perfectly everytime, and it will not.

Yeah my intent was to play Jund a little differently than everyone else. It's been tweaked out twenty times, but it started with Blightning in there. I wanted some discard in the deck, but Blightning is most useful within the first 5-6 turns, and for some reason when I run discard, I can never get those cards early in the game. Around turn 8 or so, I'll be looking for an answer to a major problem, that's when I'll draw the discard, when what I really needed was a Chain Reaction or something. So yeah, it slows you down more than it helps. Cascade is nice too, but most of the cascade cards don't do anything to benefit this deck.

The deck looks fine to me though. It's a bit too tight for anyone to give out suggestions.

So it doesn't pull a burn spell, it could still pull a Sprouting Thrinax. What's the worst that it could fetch?

Maelstrom Pulse or Grim Discovery when they need to be saved. Or even worse, it could put some of the cards he needs on the bottom of his library, like Mycoloth, for example.

I didn't say that he needed it for this deck! I just said that it was a good card for a lot of Jund decks.

That's because all Jund decks are built the same. The sad thing is, Blightning was meant for Grixis, not Jund.

It really doesn't matter that much.
