Title: Ideas for a U/W Mill deck?

Looking to make a Blue and White deck that can mill and field control.
It has to be Standard.
Tight on money.
Any ideas?

The deck is Blue and White but minor changes like to Blue/Black is fine as well.
She likes to use O-ring and Journey to Nowhere so much

Khalni Gem, Filigree Sages, Training Grounds. (Infinite Mana Combo) (If you choose to include this combo in your deck you might consider running cards such as Mind Spring and Spellbook then maybe a Legendary Eldrazi or two so you don't mill yourself!!!)

Spawnsire Of Ulamog, Training Grounds, Soul Warden (Infinite Life Combo)

Hedron Crab, Ruin Ghost, Tome Scour, Memory Errosion, Jace Beleren, Jace, the Mind Sculptor (Lots of Mill)

Oblivion Ring, Journey To Nowhere, Day of Judgement, Path To Exile, Lightmine Field, Elspeth, the Knight Errant, Gideon Jura, and Jace, The Mind Sculptor (Awesome Field Control)

For your sideboard you would want to include cards like Pithing Needle, Flashfreeze, and Celestial Purge

Other cards that are good for this type of deck are cards like Keening Stone, Halimar Depths, Halimar Excavators, Hada Freeblade, Negate, Crystallization, Basillisk Collar, Celestial Collonade, Glacial Fortress, Sejiri Refuge, Pacifism, Calcite Snapper, Admonition Angel, Silence, Ajani Goldmane, Ponder and Harm's Way.

Mill isn't good enough to survive on its own but with cards such as these you will easily mill your opponent while controlling the field. The most important thing for a good mill deck is a balance between mill and control. Also, Mill is losing its power thanks to the new Eldrazi creatures but good luck building your deck and I hope I helped you find what you were looking for.

Funny thing is I have that infinite mana combo in my banefire deck which has Spawnsire as well haha

I know, its sad but strangely enough I use deprive and kor skyfisher to bounce land back and landfall with hedron crabs over and over again.

I built a UW ally mill deck after worldwake was released, here it is you might get some ideas from it

  • 4 Halimar Excuvator   -miller anytime I put a creature out

  • 3 Jwari shapeshifter   -copy any of my creatures

  • 3 ondu cleric   -lifegain

  • 3 Hada Freeblade  -offensive considering replacing with kazandu blademaster

  • 2 wall of denial  -0/8  blocker 



  • 4 cancel -if things get hairy 

  • 2 jace beleran   -card draw, and milling if ultimate hits

  • 3 archive trap   -mill for 13 great target for twincast

  • 4 path to exile   -removal and trigger for archive, accl if played againest my own

  • 3 join the ranks  -each ally card triggers twice when played

  • 4 twincast  -highly flexible card

  • 3 tomescour  -1 mana mill card nice twincast target

  • 4 unsummon  -bounce my allys to play their abilitys again

    Archive Traps are almost a must for any mill deck. Jace Beleren is nice, but Mind Sculptor is wasted room in a mill deck. I will suggest Day of Judgement, Hedron Crab, Silence, Angelsong, Safe Passage, Howling Mines, Font of Mythos, A Couple Eldrazi to keep from milling yourself, Cancel wouldn't hurt too much.. You could roll a splash of black for Mind Funerals. Also maybe some Time Warps and Lighthouse Chronologists to lower your chances of getting beat to a pulp by creatures. There are so many ways to mill now. I hope this helped.
