I know that there are plenty of themes people would like to see come back.
For me:
Dwarfs of Sarpadia and Orcs (Orcs with great power to be fought by the Dwarfs)

Homarids (It's about time mer's ol' enemy came back)

Thrulls (with sacrifice abilities God dammit)(Say another mage figures out the creation process)

Spikes (c'mon, this is easy)

The en-kors (just make sure they all have redirection)

Kobolds (this is totally the way wizards should go)

Druids (they still need things)

mercanaries (you gave the rebels a boost, now help their oppisite)

Vangaurd (fuck this plane thing, I want vangaurds)

Minotaurs (please?)

Birds (just a few)

I want artifacts to have brown backrounds again. I want djinns and effrets to get some decent cards, besides djinn illuminatis and djinn of wishes old school stuff like juzam djinn. A return to a real world feel of cards like arabian nights or three kingdoms.

Two cards effect those two types, both of which are cripplers, so they def. need to bring them back.

Yeah, I don't like the yellow for multi-colored or the gray for artifact.

phasing its a handy tool against eldrazi and eldrazi players, because they have no idea what is going on. And I have actually used banding against deathtouch creatures. Like my friends fumiko lowblood no-dachi gorgon flail nemisis mask

It's hard to keep track of phasing.

Phasing is a terrible ability. If it actually triggered ETB or LTB effects it would be decent, but it doesn't so it's not.

The Dwarfs of Sarpadia and Orcs were terrible creatures. They would never be used as there are simply better creature types in red. Dwarves were printed heavily in Odyssey, and made an effort to come back in Eventide. No one cares if orcs ever get reprinted except you.

Homarids, same thing. (there was a homarid printed in Time Spiral)

All of the original thrulls have been replaced by better cards, and they did bring them back in the Guildpact block.

Spikes have been obsoleted by modular creatures.

The en-kors were overpowered, although I wouldn't be surprised to see them come back. (again, one in Time Spiral)

Kobolds... do we really need free creatures? (timeshifted, never reprinted)

Druids are all over the place. There's been druids in probably every set.

Mercenaries will most likely make a comback, although I hope they're a little more enticing to play than they were originally.

"Vangaurd (fuck this plane thing, I want vangaurds)" ... I agree with you 10,000%

"Minotaurs (please?)" ... They get printed every so often, although it would be nice to see a heavy emphasis on developing them as a theme. Bigger than goblins, smaller than giants.

I think I would like to see a crow, raven etc. bird theme in black. White and blue have enough.

Know what I would like to see comeback? Every card ever printed, in a black border with black writing.

That is not true.. I want at least 1 orc to be reprinted... And that orc is...

ORCHISH LUMBERJACK

For spikes vs Modular creatures, I still like Spikes because it  has many attached abilities other than the transfer the +1/+1 counter thing...

A lot of your comments were on how the creatures sucked, which is why I want them "rekindled" so they can hold up against other types.  Another thing is you were saying how they added a few cards here and there.  By themes, I meant cards that make them into a legitimate deck type, also cards that would associate themselves with the deck type, though maybe not only for the deck (an old example of this would be goblin war drums, although not specific to goblins it works very well in a goblin deck)

Most of those creature types don't deserve to be rekindled.

...
vanguards? explain, is this something alot older...?
ive only really been playing for a couple months...
so being a relatively new player, i dont know much old stuff...
my brother gave me alot of old cards, but other than that i dont know bout many of the older cards...

and i have seen alot of the older zombies, they are much better...
out of the old cards ive seen, i liked alot of the blue older cards...
especially the enchantments, stuff like; puppet master, aether storm, power leak, soul barrier, etc...
and there were a buncha really cool demons too...

and beebles, they should bring back beebles, as wierd as they are :P ...

and i liked the old stuff with "banding", its a pretty cool effect, i never knew what it was for the longest time...

Homarids were indeed horrible. They could use a reboot.

More Minotaurs would be awesome.

A reboot of Thrulls would be awesome as well. In my opinion, they should be able to easily rival Elves. Especially in terms of generating ridiculous amount of tokens.

Thrulls were meant to be the bottom of the food chain. They should not be able to rival elves. Black has vampires for this, and good zsombie decks can easily rival elves. Around the time Strength of Night and Quagmire Druid came out is when I beleive zombies were at their peak.

Glad to see there's at least 3 of us who agree on minotaurs.

@ Morbid: Vanguard was a different way to play magic. Pre-game, you chose a vanguard card to represent you. Vanguard cards modified your starting and maximum cards in hand, life total, and granted you abilities/drawbacks according to which one you chose. I don't remember when it started, but I beleive the first characters available to choose from were The Weatherlight crew. I don't play it, but I think MTGO still has this variety available.

Thrulls weren't anything. They were just add ons to random black decks.

the thrulls of sarpadia revolted and conquered it. Untill saporlings and thallids killed them all! 10 seconds on salvation wiki goes a long way

Just because Thrulls are "the bottom of the food chain" doesn't mean they can't be rekindled to kick some serious booty.

And Goblins are the bottom of the food chain, sir.

I can. That thing has too many restrictions.

Thrull Champion... now there's a guy that's not at the bottom of the food chain.

And Twogun, you're mom's a mutant. Sorry... I had to. :p

Meh. I consider being a 5 cost 3/3 with essentially no ability a restriction.

I would like to see more spirits I loved how all of them worked so well together.

It seemed like no matter what spirit card you played another spirit card will benefit from it.
