Title: Razia's Purification - Need Suggestions

Start here:

I've been struggling to find an efficient way to exploit this. The best option I have on the table at this point is to use it with these:

Using these to "hide" your own permanents, you would obviously sac these to Razia's effect, saving 3 of your lands, and having your permanents return to play when the enchantments leave play.

I have also played around with this idea, but you would have to have a mass of permanent protection in order to protect it until you have cast Razia....like Razor Barriers, etc. Otherwise, it's destroyed and your plan goes bye-bye. And I'm not certain that this would even be cost effective....Sanctum itself is kinda costly over time, much less the amount of protection you would have to take up space in the deck to protect it.

Any suggestions for other ways to exploit this would be greatly appreciated. I'm obviously trying to keep it R/W , but if something works in another color that I could easily splash, by all means toss it at me.
Keep in mind, Razia is a sorcery and that it costs 6 mana to pull off. You're not gonna be able to afford any other mana on the turn that you cast this. So it needs to be something that is set-up prior to that turn.

Ghostway would be perfect, except that it would cost 9 mana to pull off in one turn.

Galepowder Mage would work as well, but it saves one permanent before you cast Razia......I'd like to save more than one permanent if possible.

I also just thought about this.....

Maybe suspend Razia's Purification, having Ghostway in my hand in preparation.....
However, suspended cards have a tendency to make people hold counterspells or other disruption cards in their hand. So this takes away the surprise factor.

add lifeline or safehaven or use panoptic mirrors for ghostway and purification

you can cycle your hand at the end of your opponents turn, your stuff won't come back until the end of yours

You can use the Parallax Cards:
Parallax Nexus
Parallax Tide
Parallax Haze

Well, this might be limited to a specific Permanent but it will greatly exploit Razia's Purification...
Card Advantage for you...

My idea of Razia is that it is the big game ender for your deck, not an extension for a massive one turn combo. true you could form a deck to use it for the means in which you seek and more power to you for that.

The idea for this is that your opponent will have to choose three permenents among all others to keep a game advantage. Chances are if they are playing a heavy mana conversion deck you just took them out of the game completly just by playing Razia and nothing else. In this case they may not keep their land at all, instead of opting for the bigest creatures they have. Take in account of what they may have in their hand as well. In today's format there is so much aggro creature removal being played its hard to keep a creature in longer than two turns it seems.

Now to build a multi turn combo that builds up over a given amount of time that WILL NOT HINDER YOUR GAME PLAY is the correct route to go.

Personally I like the one creature you showed on here that when it attacks you remove a creature from play. Keep and go with that. Also I believe there is a blue white hybrid called turn to mist, there is Flicker (my fav), and flickerform. They two will save only one creature but are fairly cheap with the exception of flickerform. In this case you could attack and remove one kill switch of yours with the one creature, and (depending on if flicker, turn to mist, ect. are instants) save your creature all in one swoop confusing your opponent. Then on main phase two unlesh hell upon them.

Also Razor Barrier will not work for this. Razia does not target the creature. It does not target at all. Instead it is a global that effects the players themselves.

Well, I've officially tested and given up on this idea...It didn't work well in gameplay.  But for clarity, Ghostfire, you misunderstood my use for Razor Barrier.  It would only be used to protect the Synod Sanctum until I decided to play Razia. I stuff all my things into the sanctum, protect it from being destroyed by using razor barriers and such, then when I play Razia, I keep two lands and the sanctum as my 3 permanents. Next turn, I can pay to sac the sanctum, thus returning all the "hidden" stuff to play.

I like the Parallax Wave idea for this, keeps your army safe. You can play it on the turn before popping the purification to save 4 creatures.

Also, I would look into using the Ravnica two-colour lands, so if you do end up sacrificing lands to it you will at least have more mana.

Creatures with Persist would also be a good addition, possibly use Cauldron of Souls.

Well, that would be my advice if you hadn't abandoned the concept at least :)
