Remember when Righteousness was one of the best cards ever?

Remember when a 3/3 was a "big" creature?

Remember when artifacts were way to powerful?

Remeber when you could pick up the storyline from flavortext?

Remember when legends were a rarity to use?

Are you familiar with the power 9? most are artifacts

was that "fixed" for the sake of torrnement play.  I remember the wording having to do with counters.

I kind of miss those days... Very limited cards and less confusion but i also like the play-style today... It's more challenging and more varied than the good old days...

Magic did sway away from what was intended, the reason that the first one's weren't so interesting was because Wizards didn't for see how popular the game would become. So people made encyclopiedias and collected good cards. Cards like black lotus wouldn't be overpowered if you only have one in a deck that isn't based around it. And back then, rares were rare. The new idea is to make the new cards slightly better.
