Rulings2019-11-12 If Underdark Beholder leaves the battlefield while its last ability is on the stack, use the number of eyestalk counters it had before it left to determine what converted mana cost to look for. 2019-11-12 If a spell has {X} in its mana cost, you must choose 0 as the value of X when casting it without paying its mana cost. 2019-11-12 If you cast a card “without paying its mana cost,” you can’t choose to cast it for any alternative costs. You can, however, pay additional costs.
