When Eternal Scourge becomes the target of a spell or ability an opponent controls, exile it.

You exile the Eternal Scourge, not the spell which targets it...

Works much more better with food chain like Misthollow Griffing. http://www.mtgcombos.com/view.php?fid=2&tid=61226

Oh, THAT "it". Well, I guess that makes more sense, since it is kinda hard to exile an ability....
