I was thinking about this combo today, does it actually even need the bloodlord? It looks like once an opponent loses even just one life, Blood will trigger Cliffhaven, which will cause a new instance for Blood, etc etc, all opponents lose all of their life (unless game hindering card is out like Platinum Angel/Emperion).

The reason why I would lean towards these two cards is not just the lower cost, but also the fact that this possible combo would not target, thus get around hexproof/shroud situations such as Ivory Mask.

You are right, the Bloodlord is just a sub for Sanguine Bond which needs a target as well. The Vampire is the better choice since less cmc and not targeted.
In January I just wanted to put the eyes on these new cards from the latest 2 expansions.

Add Leechridden Swamp as 1 of the 12 lands and you have a
