You need canonist and blood clock in play and at least 4 lands untapped. Play mystic snake on your opponent's turn and counter his first (and with a good chance last) spell. At the beginning of yours upkeep, return to your hand mystic snake and keep 4 lands untapped to repeat the process. Obviously this combo doesn't work against affinity or any other sort of artifact deck.

Out of that lot, Curse of Exhaustion is my favorite. It's less effective in edh, but 1v1, not locking yourself out of multiple spells is a real benefit.
