I'm building a new red and black edh and I decided to get some opinions on which basic lands to use (I'm kind of stupid when it comes to aesthetics). For fun I'd like to see what your opinions are on basic land art in general.

I usually go for the full art lands. I don't need the mana symbol in the box, I know what lands do, after all.

I'm proud of you for knowing what lands do. I'm sure it would be annoying for your play group if you didn't. Are there any you like that aren't full art?

My Favorite Swamps are the full moon from Mirage and the blooming flower from Onslaught.

Mountains I am not as well versed. I guess the snow capped mountain from Mercadian Masques...

Odyssey mountains rock! As do Kamigawa ones. The M14 valley mountain looks pretty cool too.

Thinking back, I miss the old school panorama lands. I think Urza block was the last to get it, but they used to do a thing where the basic lands of a certain type were just cropped sections of the same long piece of art.

for the panarama, kamigawa did it as did zenidaker. scars had panaroma that went over composed of lands from scars and besieged. Lorywn and shadowmoor both had allied and enemy land dyptichs (2 cards for each picture). scars had panaroma that went over composed of lands from scars and besieged.

I always liked the swamps and mountains from urza's saga though I do like John avon's work(thats an idea, have all your lands from the same artist)

Innstrad and avacyn restored are cool lands as well, day and night of the same scene

You guys mind posting some links or images? I really love the full arts from zendikar and unhinged but I already have a few decks using them.

The shadowmoor dyptich

The Lorywn one

example of innstrad/avacyn day and night (there are 5 more in swamp/mountain)

example of the panorama to follow, but basically take the 4 basics of each land type and lay them next to each other to form 1 large picture, with scars take the 4 and add the 2 for besigned so it is six panels
