Neither this one nor the Glacial Chasm one work as thought.
Assault suit lets you give control of the equipped creature to an opponent "until end of turn". When the turn ends, it defaults back to whoever controlled the creature last, usually you.
Meaning, you can't dodge bad upkeeps with it, since you control it at the start of your turn.

It's not about dodging the upkeep, it's about not paying it
If you don't pay the upkeep cost you need to sacrifice the creature, the suit prevents that sacrifice

Forgot the wording on cumulative upkeep was sacrifice and not destroy.
Post- graveyard shift error on my part, I guess.
